The chip shot is made by using different clubs. The ball travels a short distance to the putting green towards the pin to set up for the putt if it hasn’t already made into the hole. There are a variety of golf clubs that can be used for a chip shot; the 7 iron, 8 iron, 9 iron, pitching wedge and sand wedge. The short irons are the 7 iron, 8 iron , and 9 iron which are ideal for chipping. Using these irons will force the ball to get in the air quickly which is essential.
