Coach Jonathan Smith (Coral Springs, FL)

Hello my name is Jonathan and I am a fun, local Coral Springs golf coach with over 25 years of playing experience and over 20 years of teaching experience! I am also a PGA Certified Golf Professional and Level 1 First Tee Coach with a passion for growing the game of golf.

I am the Founder and Director of Instruction of Jonathan Smith Golf and offer very affordable and effective golf lessons. My method for teaching the game is based on making it easy and fun for all ages and skill levels. I have given golf instruction for nearly two decades. My many years of teaching has enabled me to gain some expertise in simplifying swing techniques, while also incorporating the physical fitness aspect to improve my student’s performance. I have taught kids as young as 3 years old so the philosophy I use is designed to grow the game. My teaching experience consists of learning from some of the best instructors in the game. From 2014-2015, I taught and learned under the top PGA Teaching Professional in America at the Hank Johnson School of Golf. From 2016-2017, I took a lead instructor role at Golf Made Simple which was ranked a top 5 golf school in America at that time. Most recently, I taught with The Mike Richards Golf Academy from 2017-2023 as lead instructor of the junior golf programs. In addition to running those programs, in the fall of 2023 I was also hired to be the head coach of the girls high school varsity golf team at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. In my first year, I took the team to the state tournament.

Hello my name is Mike and I am a local Riverview golf coach with over 30 years of playing experience and over 20 years of teaching experience! About 40 years ago, I was attracted to golf because my softball team was starting to forfeit games due to no shows. So I then found an athletic activity that I could do all on my own and without depending on others-however others were free to join me. In the beginning, I found golf very challenging and difficult to break 100.

When I took golf lessons, I quickly discovered that the information that was being taught was sometimes contradicting and confusing. I found some could teach and others could not. Not all good players can teach and coach. This opened my eyes to something that would be exciting and passionate for me-becoming a good golf instructor!

So the journey began. I could break 90 but also saw the value of a dedicated short game. When I got down to a single digit handicap, I went for certification to teach golf and to help people overcome the obstacles that keep golfers from enjoying the game. Now for over 20 years, I’ve maintained a single digit handicap from a 5 to an 8 range and coached hundreds of golfers, refining my teaching method along the way. Now I can help anyone improve their technique and in turn increase their enjoyment. I treat every student as an individual. I will video your swing and recommend changes that will produce results.

Hello my name is Kent and I am a fun, local Roslyn golf coach with over 25 years of playing experience and over 12 years of teaching experience! I am also a PGA Certified Golf Professional. I began my professional career in the Metropolitan Section over at Willow Ridge Country Club. I attained my PGA membership under the tutelage of a top met PGA Professional, John Reeves. I also spent time working with the well-known Canadian golf instructor Mark Evershed. Mark’s knowledge of the swing and teaching experience was fascinating to me and helped me form the foundation for my teaching beliefs and communication to my students. Mac O’Grady has also been highly influential in my teaching philosophy and under the guidance of Joe Ingoglia I have implemented these teachings right into my current method, ultimately giving great benefit to my golf students from all corners of the Metropolitan area. In 2016, I became a PGA certified class A member. I began the next chapter in my career at Wykagyl Country Club as a Teaching Golf Professional and Lead Club Fitter.

I have always sought the use of technology in my instruction and my fittings and while at Wykagyl I became an expert with Trackman and after thousands of hours of fittings and lessons, I found that true golf performance can be more effectively achieved with a cohesive game plan that includes proper instruction, equipment as well as practice-all of which must be aided by the use of technology. I’ve been both instructing players and club fitting golfers of all ages & abilities in the Metropolitan section for the past 12 years. In that time, I have worked with top coaches, club fitters and fitness trainers to fully comprehend the spectrum of knowledge needed to create long term success for my students. Coach Angelo Cafaro (Albany, NY)

Hello my name is Angelo and I am a local Albany golf coach with over 10 years of playing experience and over 4 years of teaching experience! I am also a PGA Certified Golf Professional. I am from upstate New York & have played competitively for the last 8 years.

After attending Campbell University to obtain my PGA certification, I came out with dozens of hours of shadowing golf lessons with well known instructors including Darrell Kestner of Deepdale Golf Club and Bob Cain of Saratoga National Golf Club. I am very good with trackman and many other launch monitors allowing me to dissect issues that could not necessarily be seen right away. My specialty would be short game and putting as I learned from great short game coaches at each golf club I have worked at as well as independent research I do daily. I completed sixteen months of internships at four different private clubs with the majority of my teaching coming in the last 3 years. I work and have worked with all ages and all skill levels.

Currently, I am a plus 1 handicap and continue to compete as much as I can. I won 5 events in college along with multiple junior event wins. My teaching style is somewhat unique with a golf lesson having major focus on two things maximum. I truly believe one should not work on another part of their swing until the fundamentals are sound and repeatable. The game of golf is my ultimate passion & teaching is my very favorite way to pass on that passion to others in the game.
